Philex Mining Corporation (PX) was incorporated on July 19, 1955 to primarily engage in mining activities. The Company and its subsidiaries are organized into two main business groupings: the mining business which is directly under PX, Philex Gold Philippines, Inc. (PGPI), Silangan Mindanao Exploration Co., Inc. (SMECI) and Silangan Mindanao Mining Co., Inc. (SMMCI); and the oil and gas business under PXP Energy Corporation (PXP), a 30.4% owned company. On July 15, 2016, PXP and its subsidiaries ceased to be subsidiaries of PX as a result of loss of control through property dividend declaration. Currently, the group focuses on its core mining business.
PX and its subsidiaries are primarily engaged in large-scale exploration, development, and utilization of mineral resources. The Company has been operating the Padcal mine for the past 66 years using the underground block-cave method. It is one of the longest-operating mines in the country and produces copper concentrates, containing copper, gold, and silver. PGPI operated the Bulawan mine in Negros Occidental until its decommissioning in 2022. SMECI, through SMMCI, owns the Silangan project covering the Boyongan and Bayugo deposits in Surigao del Norte.

PX trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 74.6 and a price-to-book of 2.14, based on basic earnings per share from its latest annual filing (fiscal year ended Dec 31, 2025). Annual figures can be up to a year old, so this is not a trailing-twelve-month multiple.
PSEye doesn't label any stock overvalued or undervalued. PX currently trades at a P/E of 74.6 and a P/B of 2.14, but whether that's cheap or expensive depends on the sector, growth prospects, and what comparable companies trade at, none of which a ratio alone can tell you. For comparison, Mining & Oil peers with a computable ratio trade at a sector median P/E of 9.8 and a sector median P/B of 1.89 (16 peers). The Sector peers panel above lists 10 similarly-sized Mining & Oil companies to compare against directly.
Yes. PX has paid 1 cash dividend in the last twelve months, totalling ₱0.04 per share, a trailing yield of 0.34% at the current price. Cash dividends have a 10% final withholding tax deducted before they reach your account.
In its latest annual filing (fiscal year ended Dec 31, 2025), PX's revenue grew 8.2% and net income grew 14.7% versus the prior fiscal year. That's one year-over-year comparison, not a multi-year trend, so check the Balance sheet & income statement panel above for the full figures before drawing a conclusion.
PSEye doesn't rate stocks as good or bad buys. What this page can tell you is factual: where PX ranks by market cap (#47 of 282 on the exchange), its price history, valuation ratios, dividend record and recent company disclosures, all shown above. Whether that adds up to a good stock depends on your own criteria, and is worth researching beyond any single page, including this one.
PSEye is a data tracker, not a financial advisor, so it can't tell you whether to invest in PX or any other stock. The price, valuation, dividend and disclosure data on this page is meant to help you do your own research. Consider your own goals, risk tolerance and time horizon, and consult a licensed financial advisor before making an investment decision. If you're weighing a fixed, regular investment instead of a single lump sum, PSEye's DCA calculator shows how that strategy would have performed historically.
To buy PX shares, open an account with a PSE-accredited stockbroker (most Philippine banks and several standalone brokers offer online trading accounts), fund it, and place a buy order using the ticker symbol PX. A completed trade typically settles two trading days later (T+2). PSEye doesn't process trades or recommend a specific broker.
