Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI) was incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on August 28, 2003 originally as Valueshop Market Market, Inc. The Company's primary purpose is to buy, sell and trade goods, wares and merchandise of every kind and description and in general to carry on the business of a supermarket, hypermarket and department store operator. The SEC approved the change in name to the present one on July 3, 2014.
The Company's business is divided into three complementary retail formats namely, a supermarket format operated under the "Metro Supermarket", "Metro Supermarket", "Metro Market", "Metro Fresh N Easy", and "Metro Value Mart" brand names; a department store format operated under the "Metro Department Store" brand name; and a hypermarket format operated under the "Super Metro" brand name. These retail formats are strategically located in densely populated cities or municipalities across Luzon and Visayas.
As of end of 2024, MRSGI had a total of 10 stores in Metro Manila, 12 stores in other parts of Luzon, and 49 stores in the Visayas which brings the Company's total store count to 71.

PSEye doesn't label any stock overvalued or undervalued. MRSGI currently trades at a P/E of 5.2 and a P/B of 0.35, but whether that's cheap or expensive depends on the sector, growth prospects, and what comparable companies trade at, none of which a ratio alone can tell you. For comparison, Services peers with a computable ratio trade at a sector median P/E of 9.4 and a sector median P/B of 1.00 (31 peers). The Sector peers panel above lists 10 similarly-sized Services companies to compare against directly.
PSEye has no cash dividend on record for MRSGI in roughly the last two years. That is a statement about the corporate actions published on PSE Edge over that window, not a guarantee the company has never paid or will not pay one.

That's one year-over-year comparison, not a multi-year trend, so check the Balance sheet & income statement panel above for the full figures before drawing a conclusion.
PSEye doesn't rate stocks as good or bad buys. What this page can tell you is factual: where MRSGI ranks by market cap (#145 of 282 on the exchange), its price history, valuation ratios, dividend record and recent company disclosures, all shown above. Whether that adds up to a good stock depends on your own criteria, and is worth researching beyond any single page, including this one.
PSEye is a data tracker, not a financial advisor, so it can't tell you whether to invest in MRSGI or any other stock. The price, valuation, dividend and disclosure data on this page is meant to help you do your own research. Consider your own goals, risk tolerance and time horizon, and consult a licensed financial advisor before making an investment decision. If you're weighing a fixed, regular investment instead of a single lump sum, PSEye's DCA calculator shows how that strategy would have performed historically.
