House of Investments, Inc. (HI) was incorporated in 1959 as an investment bank, the first of such bank to be organized in the Philippines. Through the years, HI evolved into an investment holding and management company with a diversified portfolio and became one of the four major flagship corporations of the Yuchengco Group of Companies.
The Company's core business focus is organized into four segments: financial services, education, property and property services, and automotive.
HI owns a majority stake in MICO Equities, Inc., which owns Malayan Insurance Co., Inc., Malayan International Insurance Corporation, and Malayan Securities Corporation; RCBC Trust Corporation; Sun Life Grepa Financial, Inc; iPeople, Inc., which owns the Malayan Education System, Inc. under the name of Mapúa University, Malayan Colleges Laguna, Inc. (A Mapúa School), Malayan Colleges Mindanao (A Mapúa School), Inc., Malayan High School of Science, University of Nueva Caceres, and National Teachers College.
The Company wholly owns Landev Corporation, Tarlac Terra Ventures, Inc., ATYC, Inc., and San Lorenzo Ruiz Investment Holdings and Services, Inc. HI also owns and operates two car-retailing brands, namely Honda and Isuzu under its wholly owned subsidiary HI Cars, Inc.
