Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) was incorporated on November 24, 1989 as Citation Homes, Inc. to engage in real estate development. The Company later changed its name to the present one on July 12, 1993, and started commercial operations a month later after Filinvest Development Corporation, FLI's parent company, spun off its real estate operations and transferred all related assets and liabilities to FLI in exchange for shares of stock of FLI.
FLI's business segments are divided between real estate and leasing. The real estate segment is primarily composed of socialized, affordable, middle-income and high-end housings; various types of subdivision lots; medium-rise residential buildings, farm estates, industrial parks, residential resort projects, and condominium buildings. Meanwhile, the Company's leasing segment is composed of retail and office leasing.
FLI's wholly-owned subsidiaries include Filinvest AII Philippines, Inc.; FCGC Corporation; Gintong Parisukat Realty and Development Inc.; Homepro Realty Marketing, Inc.; SJR Developers, Inc.; Filinvest Cyberparks, Inc.; Festival Supermall, Inc.; Filinvest Lifemalls Corporation; Leisurepro, Inc.; and Property Leaders International Limited.
Filinvest Development Corporation is the publicly listed holding company for the various firms in the Filinvest group. It was established in 1955 in the Philippines by Andrew L. Gotianun Sr. and his wife, Mercedes Gotianun, as a used-car financing company. It has holdings in real estate development and leasing, the sales of housing units, and hotel and resort management, banking and financial services, sugar and power. It is based in Metro Manila, Philippines, and is owned by the Gotianun family.
