Megaworld Corporation (MEG), incorporated on August 24, 1989, to engage in real estate development, leasing, and marketing. In 1996, the Company shifted its focus to providing office buildings to support BPO businesses when it began development of the Eastwood City township. On August 19, 1999, MEG changed its corporate name to the present one to coincide with its conversion from a purely real estate company into a holding company, although the Company continues to focus on real estate development.
MEG's real estate portfolio includes includes residential condominium, residential and commercial lots, office buildings, retail space, and hotels. The Company has three primary business segments: real estate sales of residential developments; leasing of office space, primarily to BPO enterprises, and retail space; and management of hotel operations. Since its incorporation, the Company and its affiliates have launched more than 800 residential buildings, alongside more than 1.5 million square meters of gross leasable office space, over 500,000 square meters of mall retail space, and more than 5,000 hotel room keys across 14 homegrown hotels.

Also, last May 31, 2016, Megaworld announced that they will build two more office towers, 10-storey One Republic Plaza, and six-storey Emperador House, in Davao City. The two towers will provide an additional 30,000 sqm of office spaces for lease.
