The compound annual growth rate implied by a price series over a given window — the single steady yearly rate that would have produced the same total return, smoothing out however bumpy the actual path was. Useful for comparing two stocks (or two time windows) on equal footing, since raw total return alone doesn't account for how long it took to get there.
